Stephen Mercer

Stephen received his Associates Degree from North Florida Community College. He earned his Bachelor’s in Criminology with a minor in Agricultural Law from the University of Florida. After graduating the University of Florida, Stephen was a police officer for ten years in South Florida. In that role, he worked as a patrol officer, tactical crime suppression unit, department gang officer, and lastly, he was in the Canine Unit. While employed as a police officer, Stephen was elected union secretary and was a union representative. Stephen then left his rewarding career as a police officer and earned his Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law. In law school, he was a Dean’s Ambassador, served on the Moot Court Board, and interned for the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office in the Criminal Life appeals division and later in the Ethics Division. Stephen is a licensed attorney in both Alabama and Florida.

Prior to working for Robinson, Kennon, and Kendron, Stephen was employed with the Third Circuit State Attorney’s Office for almost three years. In that role, he was first employed as a certified legal intern and later as a prosecutor. In that role, Stephen tried criminal cases in the surrounding counties.

Stephen is a Suwannee County Native and attended Branford High School. He is an active member in the Live Oak Chapter of Kiwanis. In his free time, Stephen enjoys watching “The University of Florida” football team, fishing, and relaxing at the beach.
